Struggling in Your Walk

If you are a Christ Follower I am sure you are aware none of us have arrived. We all fall short at times. We all stumble at times. We all struggle at times in living the life that Father God would have us to live. But hopefully our Christian walk is not an ongoing stumbling/struggling walk where there is little victory. We are called to live a victorious, overcoming life in Christ Jesus. We are to be more than conquerors through Jesus.
Romans 8:37
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
In the Struggling in Your Walk podcast with my friend Bobby, Bobby is very open about his struggle at times in walking with Christ. He acknowledges he at times does not stay focused on his walk with the Lord. He shares that one of the biggest motivators to get him back on track is pain. The pain of his sin. the pain of feeling the loss of intimacy with Christ.
Surrender and Love of Christ
Bobby and I talk about total surrender as one of the means to get back on track. But I challenge Bobby to consider a much greater motivator, the love of Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:14-15
14 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; 15 and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.
More Love
If we are stumbling or struggling in our walk with Christ the best thing we can do is run to Jesus and say “Jesus I need more of your love. I need your love to consume me.” What will happen is we will have a new revelation of His love and we will have the desire to die to self to honor Jesus. He will through the Holy Spirit give us the desire and the grace to overcome sin.
If we keep the love of Christ in our minds, we will stumble and struggle less with sin. Receiving God’s love is a much greater motivator to be in right relationship with God and others than the pain of consequences for sin.
