The Beatitudes-Blessed Are The Peacemakers-Part Four

This is Part Four of the Peacemakers Podcast that Bobby and I did on being a Peacemaker. In this podcast we give examples and share principles on how to be a peacemaker and speak truth. (For us truth must be based upon biblical principles found in Scripture.) The ultimate goal is to bring people at closer to the Word and ultimately to Christ. We may not be successful but we are less likely to cause them to run from truth and God.
Yes, standing for truth may cause conflict. But YOUR GOAL is to stand for truth while being a peacemaker as much as possible.
Some principles on how to be a peacemaker while speaking and standing for truth,
Matthew 5:9
Blessed are peacemakers, they shall be called sons of God.
Do Not Judge the Heart, Condemn or Hate
You are never going to have someone receive from you if you are telling them what they believe, claiming to know their heart and motives, accusing, insinuating, labeling, mocking, etc.
Be Humble
Acknowledge where you fall short. Share your past shortcomings. Let them know you do not think you are BETTER THAN THEM. In God’s eyes no human being is better than another human being. Yes, some make better choices, some live more righteous through Christ, but none are better.
Especially share your story if you have lived a life similar to theirs and have been set free.
Use Logic and Reason
Be a person that uses logic and reason, not emotions, feelings, opinions. Help them to understand your position is rational. speak from your heart in a kind way.
Be Loving and Respectful
When you disagree in a loving and respectful way, your more likely to have an audience to hear what you have to say. If nothing else, they may say, “I see your sincerity, I appreciate your kindness, and I still disagree with you but you got me thinking.” Or something as simple as “Thank you for being kind to me.” They get a glimpse of the character of the character of God. You are reflecting being a son of God.
Show Compassion, Not hate
Try to understand where others are coming from and have compassion on them instead of hating them. God absolutely hated our sin but He had compassion on mankind, so much so that Jesus died for our sins.
Have Influence in the Lives of Others
If you follow the above principles you will have a much greater ability to have influence on them.
Sons of God
Standing for truth while manifesting the character of God. Ultimately you will have the favor of God and at times the favor of man.
Charlie Kirk
Charlie Kirk was far from perfect. PreacherRichD and Bobbie do not agree with everything that Charlie said or did. BUT, he was an example of someone who spoke truth will being a peacemaker. No matter how hateful people were to him, overall he was kind and even compassionate.
Summary
We are called to be peacemakers and called to stand and speak truth. We can do it by the grace of God if our heart is pure before God and man,
