Blessed are the Persecuted, Theirs is the Kingdom

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. This beatitude speaks of promises for those who are persecuted for standing for righteousness, for holiness for the truth of the Word of God. The greatest promise is “your reward is great in heaven”. Notice heaven, not earth.

Matthew 5:10-12

¹⁰“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ¹¹“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. ¹²Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Rabbit Trail

Bobby the Seeker and I early on got on a rabbit trail. It was about the beatitudes can seem confusing, conflicting, could be easily misunderstood. We talked about why individuals do not grab hold of powerful biblical concepts.

We ended the show about how all of the beatitudes are connected and summarized that if you seriously apply any of the beatitudes that ultimately there will be persecution that comes.
