Unbiblical Liberal Theology has overtaken several denominations and has its influence on every segment of Christianity. Liberal theology makes up its own Jesus, its own gospel. Many times it comes under the guise of the social gospel.

Characteristics of Liberal Theology
The Word of God, the Bible is fallible and is made up of errors.
Liberal Theology promotes the concept that Christianity should not be defined by Scripture but be modern and progressive and thus interpreted by modern knowledge and experience. Thus, the Word of God is not seen as infallible and inerrant. So, it can be interpreted however modern society chooses to interpret it.

Christianity is a movement of reconstruction.
Bringing Christianity in unity with the evolutionary world view, a prophetic-progressive philosophy of history that culminates into the Kingdom of God on earth, the goal of ‘a better world’ by the actions of man, not God.

Christianity must be socially relevant.
Christianity must commit to and be subject to the authority of individual reason and experience, socially relevant to modern man. Thus, God’s commands are subject to man’s opinion. Sin is how man defines it, not God.

The Bible is to be seen as mainly symbolic, symbols, and forms.
The Bible should not be taken literally. The concept of sin and what is sin is up to interpretation by the modern culture. So, sin today may not be sin tomorrow.

Historical biblical facts and events are not critical.
Because the Bible is mainly symbolic, historical facts and events are not critical and can be ignored since the focus is on Jesus. Jesus is who you want him to be, not who He was in Scripture.

Bible Doctrine means nothing.
Christianity is not defined by the doctrines found in Scripture. Christianity is all about a life with Jesus regardless if that life lines up with Scripture.

The End Result of Liberal Theology

The end result of liberal theology is you have a man-made Christianity, a man-made Bible, a man-made Jesus, a man-made religion. You have a powerless form of Christianity that is all about me. That is why most who embrace liberal theology are living a life of sin. It is a form of religion with no power. Ultimately is a form of humanism.

Liberal Theology Christianity is accepted by the populace because you can live anyway you want and call yourself a Christian. Thus, when a person calls themselves a Christian, they may be far from True Christianity and True Salvation. Our culture welcomes a false Christianity. But worse is that multitudes of churches embrace liberal theology.

Liberal theology has invaded our workplaces, our schools, our colleges, our government, our churches. It is becoming harder to find True Christianity.

Social Gospel
The social gospel in the sense of helping the needy by food and clothing, bringing help to those struggling, standing for victims, standing for justice is a good thing. But when it is combined with Liberal Theology, it is salvation by works. It is denying that there needs to be a born again experience for true salvation. Invariably it condones and promotes what the Bible clearly calls sin. It ultimately leads individuals to hell.

God’s judgment is certainly upon those who teach or promote liberal theology. The judgment may or may not take place on earth, but it is coming. The Sovereign Lord will hold accountable those who have misled individuals and directed them to a false gospel.

Bottom Line
Liberal Theology twists and manipulates Scripture, provides its version of Christianity and Salvation that is man-made, convinces the masses that they have salvation when what they have is man-made religion. Liberal theology breeds carnality. It is a doorway to apostasy and ultimately a path to hell.
