Caleb Flynn Murder Conviction
If both Caleb Flynn and Alleigha Botner as ones claiming to be Christians had followed the wisdom of keeping watch, praying, not entering into temptation, then innocent Ashley Flynn would have not been murdered.

One of the first texts Caleb Flynn sent Alleigha Botner was “Can I come over and give you a hug?” That led to over 107,000 texts, and ultimately to Flynn killing his wife.

Look what the Bible says about temptation.

Matthew 26:41 NASB
“Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

1 Corinthians 10:13 NASB
No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.

1 Peter 5:8 NASB
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.

James 4:7 NASB
Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Romans 13:14 NASB
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.

Ephesians 5:11 NASB
Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;

Notice this last verse says expose deeds of darkness. If we are aware of something taking place that is not good, we should not just ignore it.

It is very hard to accept that with both Caleb (40 years old) & Alleigha (23 years old) as worship leaders on the same worship team, being involved in an affair for 18 months, with over 107,000 texts, that there was no yellow flags to anyone on the worship team, the worship pastor, elders, deacons, church members. Friends of the family. No one. (It needs to be acknowledged that Flynn was not a regular attendee of the church, just lead worship a couple times each month. But with him being 40, not a member of the church and she is 23 shouldn’t there been some at least caution, others watching out for Aleigha and the fact that Flynn is married?)

At the end of the day Flynn is the one who murdered his wife and the blood is on him. BUT, hopefully, this horrible story will get church leaders, church members, the body of Christ to consider that we all should be concerned about each other, the body of Christ. Look at all the scandals happening within the American Church, all the sexual assaults of minors, etc. It is time for the body of Christ to say enough and to speak out if there is question of ungodly behavior taking place within a church.
