Rachel Bryan Testimony-Part One

We will be doing several podcasts interviewing Rachel Bryan of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas. Rachel will be sharing some of her life story, about her relationship with Christ, and if you know Rachel, she will be sharing biblical principles she has learned regarding addiction recovery and living a victorious life. Rachel is not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Word of God.
Why Podcasts?
Why did I PreacherRichD decide to do some podcasts with Rachel? That is an interesting question because I knew little about Rachel before I asked her if she would like to share her testimony on There is Hope Radio. I knew she started coming to the same church my wife Carmi and I attend. I knew she was in some kind of recovery program. But what spoke out to me was that there were people in church that were extremely excited to see her in church, they made it known. That spoke loudly to me. Being in recovery ministry for decades it was clear to me that Rachel must have had a tainted past and that God was doing something in her lie.
What really spoke to me is when I talked with her a couple times. It was clear she not only loves the Lord, but she desires to live for the Lord, to be a faithful servant for the Kingdom. BUT I have learned from the past do not be quick to spotlight the testimony of a person, wait to see if there is evidence of they are living for the Lord, not just talking about it.
The Conversation
I finally felt led to find out more about Rachel, does she have a story that can be of help to others. Is she real. Was she willing to be open and vulnerable to me a stranger overall to her. If so, she will be real on the podcast, no fakes on There is Hope Radio.
When Rachel and I spoke on the phone it was clear that the timing was right. It was clear the Lord was speaking to both of us some of the same things. It was clear that there would need to be more than one podcast. Rachel not only has a testimony of being set free from addiction, but her love of the Word of God needs to be shared with others. It all will make sense when you hear the upcoming podcasts.
No Script
I made it clear to Rachel that if we do the podcasts we would not operate off a script. I did not want a canned interview. I want our discussions to be lead by the Holy Spirit. She agreed. I knew that would mean it may take awhile to get to all of her testimony in one podcast. It would mean we may take some rabbit trails. That is fine as long as they are Spirit-led.
Rachel Bryan Testimony-Part One Podcast
In this podcast Rachel shares about her coming to Christ at a young age, loving Jesus as a teenager, becoming mislead be some intellectuals, walking away from Christ, getting involved in drugs. In this podcast we do not specifically cover how she gets free from addiction. Instead we cover some very powerful biblical principles that she learned through her recovery journey.
Walking Away from God Journey
Rachel shares what lead her to walk away from God.
Start of Drug Use
Rachel shares how she started doing drugs. It is important to hear her story. It certainly was not her plan to be a drug addict.
Marijuana Use
Rachel shares her experience with marijuana and why what seemed as an innocent drug led her into deception.
Pride
Pride became a real detriment to Rachel and it is clear that she knows that it can be one of the sins that can easily entangle her.
Identity in Christ
I am sure we will be talking more about this.
Importance of the Word of God
I do not believe Rachel would be walking in the freedom she has if she had not gained insight into the importance of God’s Word. It is clear she is compassionate about it. If she had the understanding of its importance as a teenager as she does now, she most likely would not have become so deceived.
Conviction of the Holy Spirit
Rachel shares a story of responding to the conviction of the Holy Spirit.
