Richard Dover (PreacherRichD) was involved in a vehicle accident where he hit two horses at 58mph. His only injury was a swollen hand with a total of 12 stitches on two fingers and a bruised eye socket. No other injuries or symptoms whatsoever. (Other than covered with the contents of the horse’s stomach.)
He believes he survived the accident and did not have any life altering injuries for one main purpose (and of course other purposes), to partner with Saturate USA to get the Gospel of Jesus Christ into every household in Arkansas via Saturate Arkansas.
More to the Story
If you watch the video of the accident you will see the vehicle camera picked up the horses seconds before impact. PreacherRichD never saw the horses. Most likely had he seen them at the last minute he would have made a sharp turn to the left and at 58mph he would have most likely rolled the vehicle multiple times. If both horses had been in the middle of his lane he would have impacted both horses head on. Look at the damage of just hitting one horse and sideswiping the other.
All PreacherRichD saw just seconds before the accident was three flashes of white light. He thought he hit head on three bicyclists because he had seen a bicyclist on the highway at the last minute several months prior to this event. He did not feel the impact of the collision whatsoever. As he sat in the car he checked out his body. The only thing he noticed was his finger had some blood on it, that was all.
As he sat in the car he thought “I do not want to see three dead bodies with their brains exposed, but I must check and see if they are alive.” He crawled out of the driver side window and then realized he had hit a horse. What relief.
PreacherRichD had taken a picture of the vehicle after the accident, amazingly the headlights and tail lights were working. Why does that matter? Because the hwy he was on has semi trucks driving on it and without lights on the vehicle they may not have seen the vehicle until the last minute.
The paramedics, the tow truck driver, the tow truck company owner, the emergency room doctors, the orthopedic surgeon and nurse were all shocked, based upon their past experiences, that PreacherRichD had no other injuries. It is clear there was Divine Intervention.
Are You in Right Standing with God
PreacherRichD certainly has not lived anything close to a perfect life. Far from it. Ask him and he will be more than willing to share the ugly parts of his life. But ever since he received Jesus Christ as His LORD and Savior in 1979 he has had a passion to serve God and minister to others in spite of all his shortcomings. Some have asked him if after the accident he thought about or made a vow to live differently or to serve God in a greater way. His answer was “Absolutely Not! I do the best I know how by the grace of God to live every day as if it is my last day. Do I have regrets? Absolutely! Do I fall short? Absolutely! But my trust is in the love, mercy, and grace of my loving Heavenly Father, not in my efforts.”
