Women in Ministry-Why the Topic?

I am going to do a series on Women in Ministry. It is going to be specifically on women evangelizing, preaching, teaching in and out of the pulpit. There are variety of reasons I am going to cover the topic and yes, I know it is controversial and there will be those on both sides of this topic that most likely will not like my position. However, I believe my position lines up with Scripture. It will be up to the reader to decide if that is an accurate statement or not.
Why the Topic?
A. Because it is controversial and thus many Christians stay away from the topic. I believe it is time to find a balanced, biblical approach regarding the topic of women evangelizing, preaching, and teaching. I am actually am naive enough to believe it would not be as controversial of a subject if there wasn’t the mindset that you most choose between two camps: Complementarianism and Egalitarianism.
B. Because there has been much bias and prejudice regarding this topic that has interfered with proper interpretation of Scripture regarding this topic. There has been Extremism. Scripture matters. Truth matters. Reflecting the character of Christ matters.
C. Because there has been much bias, prejudice, hatred and division in the body of Christ over this topic, there has been the wounding of brothers and sisters, rather intentional or not. The body of Christ has been harmed.
E. I believe ultimately what happens is there becomes extremes in both the Complementarianism and Egalitarianism Camps and the devil has a heyday with these extremes.
F. I believe that ultimately the Holy Spirit is quenched and grieved and God’s will gets hindered. Man-made doctrine on women in ministry (evangelizing, preaching, teaching) becomes more important than winning souls.
G. The ultimate goal is to find a biblical/scriptural balance so that the Gospel becomes number one.
In this series we will be tackling the ‘controversial’ Bible verses. We will be following the principles of Scripture to interpret Scripture, the importance of biblical/historical/cultural context, using Spirit led rational reasoning (not emotions and feelings). We will also be using anecdotal evidence in Scripture.
