Alliances

My alliance is to Christ alone and the Word of God. I have no alliance to anything that does not line up to the Word of God. Thus anything that aligns with something that is not biblical I call an Unholy Alliance. I will not have any part with an Unholy Alliance.

Invariably Unholy Alliances will support the end justifies the means mentality. Sadly there are Christians, there are political parties, there are other entities that have Unholy Alliances. There will be times I will call them out.

I am biblically, ethically. morally, fiscally, socially, politically conservative, but that does not mean I must agree or align with any entity no matter what. That is disturbing to some of my conservative friends, so be it. (The reality is I am more conservative than them on some issues.)

Political Parties

There is much with the Democrat Party, especially its Party Platform that is totally contrary to the Word of God and the principles found in the Word of God. That does not mean everything, but a large majority, and there are way too many within this Party that support blatant ungodliness. It should be noted the Democrat Party does not consider or call itself the Party on God’s side.

The Republican Party, at least in in its Party Platform, aligns with the Word of God and the principles found in the Word of God. It claims to be the Party on God’s side. However, the Republican Party has its own issues that sadly many within the Party refuse to acknowledge. I would argue there are too many Christian Conservatives who have unhealthy, Unholy Alliances and give way too many ‘free passes’ to President Trump and Republicans. If you have take a stand like this too many Conservatives put labels on you to ‘demonize’ you. If you do not wholeheartedly support Trump you have TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome). If you do not support everything the Republican Party does you are a RINO (Republican in Name Only). If you do not give enough free passes, you must be more of a liberal than a conservative. It is you must be an all or nothing mentality. I refuse to be any part of this kind of mindset and I will take an outspoken stand against it. You cannot claim to be on God’s side and then manifest the character of Satan.

The Democrats do the same things. I do little to address it, not because I support it, but because they do not claim to be “God’s Party” and that is not my Party Affiliation.

Not Just Political Parties

Unholy Alliances do not occur just in political parties. They can occur in every organization, in families, in communities. As a Christ Follower I refuse to participate in these Unholy Alliances wherever they occur.

Unholy Alliances can occur in churches. You must be part of a clique or not be a friend to… or you will not be accepted. My relationship with someone is not going to be based upon other’s experiences but based upon my own experience.

Policies vs Implementation

A person can support a policy and not accept how a policy is implemented. A person can support the good someone stands for but not accept how they attempt to accomplish the good. A person does not have to be wholeheartedly supportive of a person or entity to the point they ignore the wrong done by the entity.

There are polices of Trump I support but I absolutely do not support his words, actions, or behavior. I am sick of the mindset that character does not matter. Ungodly character inevitably leads to ungodly behavior and ungodly actions. Unholy Alliances requires a person to wink at ungodliness. I refuse to participate.

Ungodly Behavior

Invariably when there are Unholy Alliances there is ungodly behavior that takes place. People are seen as enemies to be hated. There is name calling, slanderous words spoken, mocking, hating, innuendos, murmuring, gossip and rumors, rivalries, strife, dissensions, division. These are all characteristics of Satan. A Christian should have no part in such behavior.

My Problem

Some say I have too high of a standard. If they are correct, then I have a problem and God needs to make me aware of it. I would argue that others have too low of a standard. Maybe there is a balance somewhere. But for me, if I am going to err I am going to err in having too high of a standard for myself and others. When I look at the Word of God I doubt very much that most of us have too high of a standard. I see the authors of the New Testament actually confronting those who had lowered the standard or had Unholy Alliances.

Maybe the problem is I am too outspoken regarding Unholy Alliances, regarding ungodly character among leaders that leads to ungodly policies or ungodly implementation of policies. (I will be writing some articles on what I call ungodly practices.)

Solution

I need to become more in tune of when I should and should not speak out about Unholy Alliances. In my mind, I am tons more silent than I would like to be.

Be Aware

Be aware if you expect be to blindly trust and give full allegiance to anything or anyone, I am not that person.
