The Voice of the Father

Which Father?

The Voice of the Father. Who is speaking? Are we hearing the voice of Father God, our earthly father, or the father of lies. If we want to be healthy in all realms of our life we need to evaluate whose voice we are listening to and obeying. Which father is leading and guiding us?

Father of Lies

The Bible makes it clear that Satan never speaks truth, he is incapable of speaking truth. The closest he can get to the truth is to twist truth. If we are hearing anything that contradicts Scripture we know that the ultimate source of the lies is Satan. If we listen to the voice of Satan we will live a life of dis-ease that will lead to sickness.

 You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

John 8:44

Earthly Father

Based upon the words that were spoken, or not spoken to us by our earthly father, and the environment we grew up in, can determine how we see ourselves and how we see God the Father sees us. If we grew up in an unloving environment, we can find ourselves allowing an UNLOVING SPIRIT to control our lives.

If our earthly father was never in our life we can feel abandoned and unloved. If we were never good enough for our earthly father we can feel we are never good enough and unloved. If we were told by our earthly father, or treated by our earthly father that we are unworthy and useless we feel we are a ‘loser’ and feel unloved. We can end up seeing that Father God is unloving. If we live with self pity, self hatred, guilt, shame, and/or condemnation we will have dis-ease in our life that leads to some form of sickness.

Our Heavenly Father

If we want to live a life of fullness, wholeness, and health we must make the choice to allow the voice of our Heavenly Father override all other voices that come our way. We must compare what we hear with the Word of God-what does the Word have to say about us as God’s children. We must take every thought captive. We must not let an UNLOVING SPIRIT determine our identity. We need to understand WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST and receive the Love of the Father.

Of course, having a greater understanding of the Love of the Father does not mean we will never get sickness or disease, it rains on the just and unjust. But if we listen to the lies of Satan and an Unloving Spirit we ca certainly open ourselves up to sickness and dis-ease.

“God is love.” (1 John 4:8, 16)
“The God of love and peace will be with you.” (2 Cor 13:11)
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” (2 Cor 13:14)

¹ See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.

1 John 3:1-2

¹⁵ For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” ¹⁶ The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,
