Why Do Individuals Reject the Conviction That Comes From God?

There are multiple reasons why individuals reject the conviction that comes from God. Sadly, the number one reason is they do not understand the benefits that come from conviction. Let’s recap the benefits before we take a look at the reasons why conviction from God is rejected.

Benefits of Conviction from God

Conviction is the Foundation of the Christian Faith, Conviction Transforms Us, Conviction and Repentance, Conviction and God’s Love, Conviction and Forgiveness, Conviction and Courage and Divine Favor, Conviction and Community

Why Conviction from God is Rejected

A. If a person wants to live in willful, ongoing, blatant, unrepentive sin they will reject conviction that comes from God.

B. A hardened heart. If a person continues to reject conviction they will have a hardened heart and ultimately will face condemnation from god that will lead to everlasting punishment.

C. Confused between the difference of condemnation and conviction, short explanation of house.

D. Legalism. There are those who promote legalism-a lifestyle of do and donts that are manmade, many times twisting Scripture.

E. A person likes the sin, finds some benefit from it, so they do not repent.

F. Conviction requires change and we all hate change and change can be hard at times.

G. Failing to understand and obtain the grace of God to change.

H. Lazy. It takes work many times to change, even with God’s grace.
