Conviction is a Gift from God
Conviction being a gift from God, should be obvious just by recapping some of the benefits of conviction. But before we do that, this look at the definitions/descriptions of conviction.
Conviction
To convict, to reprove, to expose, to refute, to correct
To tell a fault
reprove-to correct gently or with kindly intent
rebuke-to reprimand, expression of strong disapproval
To convince with solid, compelling evidence, to expose wrongdoing.
John 16:8 And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment;

Characteristics of Conviction by the Holy Spirit
Personal discernment, where each believer acts according to their conscience and understanding of God’s Word.
Awareness of sin and the need for repentance.
Faith in God’s promises, giving assurance and confidence in unseen truths.
Guidance by the Holy Spirit, who reveals righteousness and judgment.
Conviction encourages believers to stand firm in their faith, live righteously, and align their actions with God’s will, even in the face of challenges or opposition.
Examples of Conviction at Work and Why a Gift from God
Conviction from the Holy Spirit can be a warning-it is best if you do not do such and such, best not to go someplace, stay away from this person.
Conviction from the Holy Spirit can be direction-as a Christ Follower you should help this person, you should volunteer in this area.
Conviction from the Holy Spirit can be disciplinary-it was not right what you did, you need to make amends.
