Serving Others

Bobby the Seeker and I talked about the importance of serving others. Doing service work not only benefits the person who we are serving, ministering to, it helps us. BUT, our main purpose is not be focused on us, but to focus on others.
I will say why many individuals do not change, why many struggle with ongoing sin, why many are not happy with life is because they are self-centered rather than other-centered.
Change by Serving
When we have a sincere, pure heart we realize we cannot help others if we are not first taking care of ourselves. People know when we are fake. They know if we are not practicing what we teach and preach.
If we are sincere we will not be walking around in blatant sin if we are helping others.
If we keep our heart sensitive to others God will give us compassion and empathy for others.
The Joy of Serving
There is a joy in serving to others. A joy in being able to help others. At some point it become who you are as a person when you see the rewards that come from it. The saying it is worth it if I only touch one person is not just saying, it is truth if you have a heart of service.
The Great Commission
In reality, the Great Commission is all about serving others.
Matthew 28:19-20
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
